Roy Moore Concedes Fondling A 14-Year-Old Would Disqualify A Senate Candidate

There was a time when women would hardly ever be believed about sexual assault. But now we have gone to the other extreme where as a society many in our culture will not even entertain the idea that women actually do bring false accusations of sexual assault against men. If we look at the Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey sexual assault allegations you have accusers spanning decades and even in the last couple of years. But when you have an isolated few years that a person was supposedly a sexual predator and then all of a sudden there is no one for the rest of their life this does not pass the smell test. In a previous post I took on the issue of Judge Roy Moore dating teenage girls while he was in his early thirties.

First let me say in relation to Roy Moore dating girls in their teens he has stumbled greatly in his answers. I think this is because he knows how politically incorrect it was. I think he should come forward and just set the record straight that he dated teenage girls while in his thirties with their parent’s consent. More than a handful of Republican senators have withdrawn support for GOP Senate candidate Roy Moore, who faces new allegations involving a sexual encounter he had with a 14-year-old girl and 16-year-old girl when he was in his early 30s.

‘If These Allegations Are True, He Must Step Aside’

He used the story of Joseph and Mary from the Bible as justification for his chosen Senate candidate having allegedly sexually pursued a 14-year-old girl. Facing a tough re-election, Rep. Barbara Comstock, R-Va., likened Moore to Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, former Rep. Anthony Weiner and former Fox News executive Roger Ailes, all men accused of sexual misconduct. In the immediate aftermath of the Post report Thursday, a wave of national Republican leaders called for Moore to drop out of the race if the allegations are true.

“The allegations against Roy Moore are deeply disturbing and disqualifying,” he wrote on Twitter. “If these allegations are true, he must step aside,” Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky said in a statement. The report immediately led to sweeping backlash in the political world, with a number of prominent members of Moore’s party calling for him to withdraw from the race if the story is accurate. “After over 40 years of public service, if any of these allegations were true, they would have been made public long before now,” the statement continued, with Moore calling the report a “completely false and desperate political attack.”

The future judge acted in a “flirtatious manner” and even signed her yearbook “Merry Christmas” and “Love, Roy Moore, D.A,” Nelson said. He has denied any wrongdoing and points to a political conspiracy as the reason why the allegations are being made public now. There is a chance Moore gave two answers and did answer both questions. That would mean he answered the question, “Would it be unusual for you as a 32-year-old guy to have dated a woman as young as 17?” by saying, “Not generally.” This means that it would generally not be unusual. “We don’t need a liberal person in there, a Democrat,” he said on the White House lawn on Tuesday. “He did that because there is something about a purity of a young woman, there is something that is good, that’s true, that’s straight and he looked for that,” Benham said.

She told Tom Llamas, of ABC News, in a Friday interview that she made notes underneath Moore’s entry. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten, or redistributed. In the latest interview, Moore continued to deny any allegations of molestation. And for them to say that, I don’t know why they’re saying it, but it’s not true,” Moore told The Voice of Alabama Politics. It’s unclear what will happen to Moore now that the Washington Post story is out.

Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg Sends Letter To Republicans: Back Off

I showed from the Scriptures that an older man looking to court younger women was not sinful or wrong by Biblical standards. And on Tuesday in an interview with MSNBC, his attorney Trenton Garmon addressed the allegations — which Moore has given conflicting answers about — that he did date teenage girls and got permission from their mothers to do so. The Washington Post, which broke the initial allegations against Moore last week, reported late Wednesday that Moore approached Gena Richardson when she was a high-schooler working at Sears and asked for her phone number.

Moore is only the latest powerful man to be accused of sexual misconduct in recent weeks, part of a flood of revelations since The New York Times and New Yorker chronicled film producer Harvey Weinstein’s sexual misbehavior, including accusations of rape. (Weinstein denies them.) While politics is widely reported to be a hotbed of sexual abuse, no American politician has faced accusations as serious as the ones against Moore since the current flood began. God condemns sex outside of marriage AND being a false witness. As we can see from the story of Joseph in the Bible, false accusations have been going on just as long as actual sexual assault. We cannot acknowledge the reality of the one while ignoring the reality of the other. Our country has gone from one extreme to another when it comes to sexual assault.

And so these allegations are false,” Moore said during an interview with The Voice of Alabama Politics, a television news show affiliated with the website The Alabama Political Reporter. Meanwhile, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Kent.) called on Moore to leave the race if the allegations are true. “I wanted it over with — I wanted out,” Leigh Corfman told the newspaper, which also reported that three other women said Moore attempted to have sex with them before they were 18 years old. Sexual misconduct allegations keep coming out against Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore, escalating the controversy around his campaign nearly every day as members of his own party push him to drop out. In an interview with conservative radio host Sean Hannity, Moore did not wholly rule out dating teenage girls when he was in his early 30s. Moore is an outspoken Christian conservative who has said “homosexual conduct should be illegal” and who claimed the 9/11 attacks were a case of divine retribution.

It didn’t matter to Colbert who Louis was—what he’s accused of doing is deeply wrong. Condemning sexual misconduct has exactly zero things to do with your political affiliation. The time for the Alabama GOP to learn that lesson is running out. Moore has been accused of sexually harassing minors, and was reportedly banned from a local Alabama mall for continually making young girls uncomfortable. So far, nine women have accused the Republican contender of assault, harassment or unwanted advances, with most saying the former judge preyed on them when they were teenagers and he was in his 30s.

With the special election for the Senate seat formerly occupied by U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions set for Dec. 12, Moore’s name may not be removed should he withdraw. “The allegations against Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore are deeply troubling,” Sen. Cory Gardner of Colorado, the chairman of the National Republican Senate Committee, said in a statement. “If these allegations are found to be true, Roy Moore must drop out of the Alabama special Senate election.” A judge who disregards the rule of law to keep a Ten Commandments statue on courthouse grounds, or maintain a same-sex marriage ban?

Roy Moore’s Attorney Said an MSBNC Host’s Cultural ‘Background’ Could Explain Dating Teens

“Because of that, at the direction of counsel, I cannot comment further.” Just before the allegation from Johnson was reported, Moore’s campaign held a news conference to try to discredit another accuser, suggesting that a yearbook inscription he allegedly wrote was fabricated. AL.com has reported that Moore was known to cruise for young girls at the local mall in his hometown of Gadsden. A man who worked at the mall in the early 1980s told CNN that Moore had been banned from the mall because “he was bothering girls in the mall.” According to the Alabama secretary of state’s office, a candidate can be removed from the state’s ballot only if the request is submitted no later than 76 days before the election.

If Moore withdraws from the race, his Democratic opponent, Doug Jones, would still have to get more than 50 percent of the vote. Candidates for the special election were certified on October 11, 2017, which is when the state mails packets to the state’s 67 probate judges—one for each county. The deadline has passed for a party to replace its candidate on the ballot, ballots have already been printed, and some absentee votes have been cast, Beal said. Religious conservative operatives have been the biggest and most hypocritical people in politics after five women came forward and alleged he had engaged in stalking, dating and even initiating sexual encounters with young girls. But even without an independent analysis, the attorney cast doubt on the yearbook message, pointing out that Moore had been the judge assigned to Nelson’s past divorce case.

Moore specifically named gay marriage as one of those “bad things”. Young viewed the attempt to pressure Moore to step down as a “coup” and described the allegations as “two worlds colliding, elitist Republicans and the establishment which includes the Democrats and the fake news” versus “the good solid people of Alabama”. Moore’s campaign did not address LoveAndSeek Gray’s allegations in a statement to the Post. “At some point, he gave up. He then looked at me and said, ‘You are a child. I am the district attorney of Etowah County. If you tell anyone about this, no one will believe you,'” Nelson added. In spite of what Moore said, the county was not dry at the time that Deason alleges she went on dates with Moore.
